XProtect Operator

This two-day instructor-led training introduces the XProtect® Smart Client in practical, realistic scenarios. The class delivers a series of hands-on exercises where students view live video, search and export recorded video, and configure XProtect Smart Client. This class will help security guards, receptionists, security managers, and investigators build the confidence in using live and recorded video within the Milestone XProtect VMS.

Introduction to XProtect Technician

This 2-day instructor-led training is designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in the XProtect Technician class.

In a comfortable learning environment, you will explore Windows settings, networking fundamentals, and key Milestone concepts. Guided by an experienced instructor, you will gain new skills through practical exercises, including completing a single-server installation of XProtect.

By the end of the class, you will feel empowered, confident, and ready to embark on your exciting XProtect journey!

XProtect Technician

This three-day instructor-led training introduces students to real-life scenarios that use core features of the Milestone XProtect® Corporate VMS. During this class, students will complete hands-on exercises to install and configure an XProtect Corporate VMS installation. Step-by-step instructions and a professional facilitator will guide students as they configure the XProtect Corporate VMS to meet customer business needs. A final class project allows students to practice and demonstrate their skills in an independent environment with continued support from the facilitator.

Attending this workshop helps prepare you to take the Milestone Certified Integration Technician (MCIT) online assessment.

Recommended Milestone eLearning

It is strongly recommended that you review eLearning courses prior to taking TC1 in order to be successful with the hands-on exercises and class discussions. These eLearning courses cover fundamental knowledge and skills with cameras, networks, and storage devices.

The TC1 Pre-Class Coursework provides essential knowledge to review before taking the TC1 class. The Integration Technician training track provides valuable information and explores topics from the TC1 class even further. This three-day instructor-led training introduces students to real-life scenarios that use advanced features of the Milestone XProtect® Corporate VMS. During this class, students will complete hands-on exercises to expand an existing XProtect Corporate VMS installation. Students will be introduced to tools and techniques which streamline deployment, automate tasks, and enable advanced configuration and maintenance. Students will gain skills in handling challenging scenarios and complex business needs.

Attending this workshop helps prepare you to take the Milestone Certified Integration Engineer (MCIE) online assessment.

Milestone Certified Integration Technicians (MCITs) who are responsible for installing and configuring advanced features in high-complexity, video surveillance systems are encouraged to attend this class.

REQUIREMENT: A current Milestone Certified Integration Technician (MCIT) certification is required before taking this class.

Solution Design

XProtect Designer

This two-day instructor-led training uses a combination of online tools and online labs to help students learn to design a Milestone XProtect® VMS to specifications. This class provides attendees with the knowledge and skills to design Milestone XProtect VMS surveillance systems that effectively support customers’ surveillance objectives. This class helps students use Milestone design resources to consistently meet customers’ needs and exceed their expectations.

A professional facilitator guides attendees and provides topical expertise as well as Milestone best practices.

Attending this workshop helps prepare you to take the Milestone Certified Design Engineer (MCDE) online assessment.

The target audience includes security and surveillance professionals who have the direct responsibility to design Milestone surveillance systems, as well as technical sales professionals who want to better understand and position the Milestone Advanced platform to their customers.

This training workshop is not required prior to taking the Milestone Certified Design Engineer (MCDE) online certification assessment but is recommended as preparation. For learners looking to earn the MCDE online assessment after attending class, we recommend first reviewing the MCDE Study Guide, as it provides insight into the knowledge and skills required and how to best prepare for the certification assessment.

Class Learning Objectives
  • Collect a customer’s surveillance objectives by asking design related questions and translate them into technical design requirements.
  • Create design specifications by recognizing Milestone hardware components, design installation types and software product capabilities.
  • Produce hardware calculations using Milestone design tools to see a full list of hardware recom¬mendations for a desired solution design.
  • Complete the solution design process and submit a winning bid to your customer by accessing Milestone design support resources.
